Our new signing, Vlad Dragomir, has been speaking about his decision to join the Gunners.

Speaking to the Romanian press, the 16-year-old said, “I am very excited for this step and I hope I won’t disappoint. Arsenal’s offer was irresistible, as I felt that my place is here.”

Talking about the path he’s taken so far in his short career, it becomes clear what a huge step moving to Arsenal is for him. “I was in trials at Parma, and at lots of other clubs,” he said. “I also had offers from Romania (Steaua and Craiova).”

When speaking about his personal playing style, the box-to-box midfielder admitted, “I believe I am a player similar to Kross [SIC] in style.”

Presumably, Dragomir is referring to Real Madrid star, Toni Kroos.

As we previously mentioned, the youngster will be the first Romanian ever to sign for Arsenal and the publication he conducted the interview with seems genuinely proud of their boy getting the chance to sign for such a big club.

The paper describes him as intelligent and mature, who is not only strong but skilled in the final third.

Although it’s unlikely we’ll see the kid in the first team any time soon given he’s so young, recruiting from within is always something Arsene Wenger’s liked to do, so we could potentially see him in a cup game in the next couple of season.
