Earlier this week we brought you the reports that Arsenal were interested in signing Chelsea’s young Belgian midfielder, Charly Musonda.

The player, who was considering his future, had stated that he would seek assurances from the Stamford Bridge outfit regarding his future and ask to go on loan if necessary with a permanent move away from the club a very real option.

A number of clubs were chasing his signature, some on loan, some with a view to a permanent deal, and it is one of the loan-chasers who look like they could land their man according to reports from Belgium (via SportWitness).

Marseille seem to be in poll position for the 18-year-old with a deal on the table that would see him initially join on loan with an option to buy.

With a fee of around €10m being mentioned it’s not clear how concrete Arsenal’s interest actually is in the player but given that he’s young, French (ok, Belgian, but that’s close enough, right?) and an attacking midfielder I think it’s safe to say it was probably pretty strong.
