Arsenal continue to be linked with all the defenders this transfer window.

This time, it’s Zenit St. Petersburg centre-back, Ezequiel Garay who has reportedly caught our eye.

The 28-year-old only moved to the Russian champions last season, so the idea that’s he’s already looking for a move away seems a little unlikely.

In addition, he only joined from Benfica for £4m and, according to the Telegraph, we’re looking to spend £13m. I’ve heard of inflation, but that seems a tad extreme.

Saying this, he did feature a lot for Zenit during a successful season. The Argentine appeared 42 times and even scored once and assisted three times – an interesting stat for a centre-back.

Of course, rumours linking us with central defender are bound to be rife in the coming weeks considering the whispers that Real Madrid want Laurent Koscielny, and until someone shuts them down, they’re only going to continue. This isn’t the first time Garay has been linked to a linked with a move to the Premier League. However, after just one season at Zenit, I don’t see him leaving.
