Alexis Sanchez was unable to get on the scoresheet for Chile as his side played out an exciting 3-3 draw with Mexico however he was denied what would likely have been a winner.

The hosts fell behind twice in the first half with the score level at the break. A penalty ten minutes into the second half gave Arturo Vidal his second of the game and Chile the lead for the first time in the match, but Mexico levelled the game just 11 minutes later.

Sanchez did manage to find the back of the net with a close range effort but was ruled out for offside. On the replay he certainly looked level, perhaps a mere millimetre offside if at all.

Neither side were able to break the deadlock before full-time and Chile will now have to wait until their next game to secure their passage out of the group stages. They are currently top of the table on goal difference with four points, the same as Bolivia whom they play next.
