Last month, Daily Cannon reported on a source claiming that Chelsea would never sell goalkeeper Petr Cech to Arsenal and it seems Ray Wilkins echoes this but does Petr Cech agree?

A couple of days ago, the former Chelsea number two (that’s assistant manager, not the other thing) spoke to Talk Sport about the current drama surrounding Cech. During the interview he claimed what we all perhaps suspected, that Chelsea just wouldn’t sell to a rival.

“If you look at Chelsea’s actions over the last few years, with the likes of Didier Drogba, Nicolas Anelka and Salomon Kalou, they were all sold outside the country so they couldn’t do any damage to the club in the Premier League. Jose Mourinho will do the same with Petr Cech,” he said.

Adding, “I don’t know why Paris Saint-Germain have not tabled a bid already because Salvatore Sirigu, the Italian goalkeeper, isn’t good enough.”

However, since then, somewhat interestingly, the Express has reported on a few choice words from Cech himself.

Speaking to the Sydney Morning Herald, he said “I feel that every game I played, I played on the level I was required to be. It was very positive for me and it gave me the reassurance that I’m ready to play and I want to play, so let’s see what’s going to happen at the end of the season. I have no plans yet and as soon as the season is over, I’ll look to the future and just see what I want to decide. I feel that I’m fit and ready to play and I don’t want to lose time on the bench.”

Although the goalkeeper doesn’t say specifically where we wants to move, it’s pretty clear that the 32-year-old isn’t happy. Nor should he be. He’s still got plenty of years left in his career and I don’t blame him for not wanting to spend it warming the Blue’s bench.

I don’t see him coming to Arsenal, purely because I believe Cech just wants a move and he doesn’t really mind where, and the likelihood of Jose Mourinho selling to us is probably about zero.
