Alexis Sanchez scored Arsenal’s 100th goal in all competitions this season and Arsene Wenger believes this was immensely important in showing we’re an attacking team.

Reflecting on our impressive 3-1 victory over Hull City to secure top four football, the boss also wanted to reflect on the importance of scoring our 100th goal in all competitions.

“It first shows that we are an offensive team who likes to win going forward. The most important thing is that we feel we’ve made progress since the start of the season, and that people look at us in a different way to how they did in September,” he said.

Last season, we scored 99 goals and to break that barrier is a huge step. The manager mentioned the importance of this improvement saying, “We are consistent and consistency is the first sign of quality. We passed a few test in a positive way. What is very important is to keep the attitude in the side to improve, to make progress.”

Alexis’ goal was the third scored by the Gunners and second from him on the night. Aaron Ramsey put a mind-boggling through-ball in to Alexis’ feet and all the Chilean had to do was round the keeper and slot the ball home.

Ramsey also scored (the 99th Arsenal goal) minutes before that with some unreal ball control in the box after Santi Cazorla had passed him a stunning long ball up the pitch.
