Arsene Wenger and Manchester United managers aren’t exactly two words that make you think of harmony.

But, speaking to Bein sports in France, the Arsenal boss has been singing the praises of his opposite number.

Failing to get the better of Louis van Gaal in the Premier League this season, he was able to knock him out of the FA Cup, ending United’s hope of winning a trophy under their new manager in his first season.

That was fun.

It’s not overly clear why he was speaking to the French channel about the United manager, but here’s what he had to say:

“I believe he has shown personality and character.

“He has shown that he has his own views and that he has made progress during the season. Overall, it wasn’t easy for him to come in.

“He had so many players to find the balance.

“It takes time to get to know the players and to know what clicks and what will work together and not and he has done that well.”

Arsenal will finish above United for the second successive season as long as there isn’t an eight-goal swing in goal difference on Sunday.
