The Arsenal boss has been singing his players’ praises after the 3-1 victory over Hull City, with Mesut Ozil being top of his list.

Ozil, along with the rest of the Arsenal team, had his run of the pitch last night at the KC Stadium. Far from the ‘flop‘ he’s been (wrongly) labelled in the past couple of seasons, the little German midfielder made football look effortless.

“Mesut Ozil is developing fantastically well and had a fantastic game,” Arsene Wenger said to Arsenal Player after the match. “Overall his influence was very strong.”

He also mentioned our Chilean forward, Alexis Sanchez, who scored two goals – the second of which being our 100th team goal of the season in all competitions – and Jack Wilshere, who has just returned from injury.

“Alexis had one of his complete games. I like when he mixes his game up with the runs in behind and coming to the ball – he did that against Hull.”

In regard to Wilshere, he said, It’s great and he’s sharp. Maybe he felt too sharp because he wanted to always make the difference but it’s good. You could see that he has found his burst again. Let’s be patient with him, not too demanding either. It is interesting that he’s back.”

After a turbulent season, the boss admitted he’s happy to have clinched top four and now has his sights on finishing as high in the Premier League as possible.

“I’m very happy [with the win] because it keeps our run going and overall I think we secured the top four. We now have an opportunity to go second now so we want to take it. We also want to continue to improve and develop as a team, and you could see that the focus is there to do it.”

We currently have 70 points, the same as Manchester City, with a game in hand.
