Arsene Wenger has confirmed that Arsenal picked up no new injuries in their win over West Brom at the Emirates.

In a game which was played in a very good spirit, there were no challenges that would have been a concern to the boss but, as we all know, Arsenal players can find other ways to hurt themselves and that’s exactly what Kieran Gibbs did.

Bumping the West Brom player as he jumped for a ball, the full-back injured his shoulder and seemed to struggle with the problem for some time although he did not need to be taken off.

Speaking after the game, the boss confirmed that there was no problem with Gibbs – or any other player.

“You could see that some players are in good shape for the FA Cup final,” Wenger said. “There are no new injuries.”

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain made his long awaited return from a persistent groin injury when he was brought on after 76 minutes meaning that Arsenal head to Wembley with only Mikel Arteta a doubt. Danny welbeck is back in training.

Mathieu Debuchy also returned to training on Friday and even Abou Diaby is fit.

True story.
