Arsene Wenger was asked after the win over Hull what he meant by his recent comments regarding buying players in the summer.

Speaking in his press conference ahead of the game, the manager had hinted that he didn’t need that much in terms of bringing players in, so the reporter after the match asked him to elaborate.

“[I said that ] just to get out of a tricky question in the press conference maybe. What I mean is we do not need to buy a number of players.

“If we find top world class players we look at, it but we have a very strong squad already in number and now the basic is to stay together and start well next season.”

And he’s right.

When you look at the Arsenal squad when they’re all fully fit, Arsene really has assembled a brilliant team with strength in depth on the bench.

Of course, the full squad is rarely fit at the same time and that would be my main area of concern that they should target.

Can they get the squad to stay fit like Chelsea’s did? Do that and they’ll win the league next season, regardless of who they bring in during the summer.
