Danny Welbeck has suffered an injury setback and will now miss the FA Cup final on 30th May.

The frontman had been expected to return against Manchester United however that date was then pushed back when he was ruled out of both that game and the following one against Sunderland.

Expected to return to training at the end of last week he was also expected to take a fitness test at the weekend but was deemed not fit for the final league game of the season and has now been ruled out of the showpiece, missing the chance to play at Wembley in his first season with the club.

Speaking after the game against West Brom on the final day of the league season Arsene Wenger said “Welbeck will be short because he has not practised yet” while confirming he would miss the game.

Danny has been out since the game against Chelsea in April when he picked up a ‘swollen knee,’ an injury that was only expected to keep him out in the short-term.

Never mind, Welbz, we’ll be back there next year no doubt!
