The Telegraph have compiled a list of the Top 20 worst signings of the season and have picked two Arsenal newbies to include in the list.

Seriously.

Picking Calum Chambers at number 12 and Danny Welbeck at number six, the Telegraph have clearly lost their marbles.

Here are some of the players they think have been better signings than Chambers:

Mauro Zarate, Adel Hernandez, Brown Ideye, Juan Cuadrado, Steven Caulker, Jack Rodwell, Ben Davies, Jake Livermore(!).

And better than Welbeck:

All of the above plus

Dejan Lovren, Emmanuel Riviere, Sandro, Lazar Markovic, Wilified Bony.

The reason they pick Chambers, they explain, is because he was thrown in at the deep-end to cover for Mathieu Debuchy and has been shattered since Christmas.

He’s 19 for god’s sake.

I only read the piece because I was sure that I’d find Welbz listed but Chambers?

That’s not to say I think Welbeck has been a poor signing, but I can see how a paper could make that case. As for the inclusion of Chambers, someone needs to open a window at the offices of the Telegraph every once in a while.
