Arsenal grabbed an unlikely draw at Old Trafford despite failing to turn up for the first 80 minutes.

Naming an unchanged lineup for the sixth time in a row in the Premier League, Arsenal were static, disinterested and unable to find a man for the majority of the match.

United grabbed hold of the game and, in what was a pretty poor first half, scored the only goal of the half when Ander Herrera wasn’t tracked and was able to slot past Ospina at him near post.

Mistakes everywhere.

Expecting a reaction in the second half, we didn’t really get it, and while Mike Dean should have awarded a penalty when Chris Smalling practically undressed Olivier Giroud in the box, it was only when Wenger made a double change did Arsenal start to impose themselves on the game.

Bringing on Theo Walcott and Jack Wilshere, Wenger took off Hector Bellerin and Santi Cazorla and Arsenal were instantly better.

It was Theo who struck for the Gunners, netting via a deflection off Tyler Blackett who had been brought on by Louis van Gaal to counter the Englishman’s threat. We were also probably helped by the fact that David de Gea had just went off injured and Victor Valdes, making his United debut went down far too early.

Shortly after that Arsenal had a chance to win it as Ozil found Giroud but his effort hit the side netting.

In the end, a draw was perhaps a bit fortunate, but if we factor in the penalty we should have had, we could rightly complain that we were robbed.

Let’s do that.

Or, we can just forget about it, be glad we didn’t lose, and move on to Sunderland.
