Aaron Ramsey spoke to Arsenal.com this week ahead of the FA Cup final against Aston Villa and praised the fan’s supporting, saying that the team are hungrier for success than ever.

The midfielder, who netted the winner in the final last season, made it clear that, after getting a taste for success last year, the squad are raring to go at Wembley this Saturday. He was also quick to mention how upsets can and do happen in the FA Cup and that the team are well aware of that.

“It’s so important to have that hunger to go out and prove that you’re worthy winners. There’s so many upsets happening in the FA Cup. Look what happened in the last round – everyone fancied Liverpool to go through and Villa overturned them,” the Welshman said.

He continued, “It’s not going to be an easy game, we’re aware of that, but all the lads are even more hungry to win something this time around. We want the feeling that we had last year and we want to go on and win more things.”

Speaking about the fans, the 24-year-old praised their loyal support, even during last season’s final.

“It’s always important to have your fans behind you and supporting you. Even though we went 2-0 down last year at Wembley [against Hull City], you could still really hear them trying to get us back into the game. I felt they played a major part in getting us back into it, getting over the final hurdle and winning the game.

“They’re massive to us and you could see the amount of support that they give us, even on the parade last year when we had 250,000 fans on the streets. You can see how much it means to them.

“Hopefully we can give them something like that again and make it another day to remember.”

The comments Rambo has made about the fans are quite similar to Olivier Giroud’s a couple of days ago and it’s clear that the team are keen for the fans to really get behind them this weekend. Whether they’ve been told to ‘rally the troops‘, so to speak, by their PR team or similar, the gratitude is still clear.

Without our support pushing them over the line on a few occasions, I’m not entirely sure we’d be in such a strong position now.

Let’s give them what they want on Saturday, shall we?
