Danny Welbeck and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain could miss the FA Cup final as they both recover from their respective injuries.

The news about Welbeck will be the most concerning with the club, once again, under-estimating his recovery time. Wenger had said that Welbeck had a chance of making the Swansea game but was more likely to be back against United on Sunday. Failing to make that game, he has now been ruled out of the game against Sunderland on Wednesday night as Wenger admits that he doesn’t know if the forward will make the final.

The Ox is also struggling and it would be another massive blow to him if he were to miss the final after missing out last season on both the show-piece at Wembley and the World Cup.

Speaking to the press on Tuesday, Wenger said

“I don’t know yet [if they’ll both be fit for the final], let’s see how they all recover next week. Danny Welbeck is not available yet, he is not in full training, so I honestly don’t know.

“They all have to get fit very quickly now because there is not a long way to go [to the final].”

Some good news, at least, in that Mathieu Debuchy is set to return to training on Friday after recovering from a hamstring problem.
