It’ll come as no surprise that German playermaker, Mesut Ozil, has won his second Vitality Player of the Month.

With 36% of the vote, Ozil has won player of the month again; the first time he won it this season was February. Alexis Sanchez came second with 25% of the vote and defensive midfielder Francis Coquelin came third with 18.2%.

So far, Ozil is one award away from catching Alexis, who has won the fan-voted award three times this season (September, October and November) while teammate Santi Cazorla has also won it twice (December and January).

In April, the 26-year-old scored one goal, against Liverpool, and assisted two. In just 20 appearances, Ozil has scored five goals and assisted six (via WhoScored) in a season tainted by injury.

The player has come under harsh criticism due to apparently not playing like a £42m player should. However, you’ll be hard pressed to find many Arsenal fans who are unhappy with him.

Here’s to many more Player of the Month awards.
