Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is nearing a return to first-team action after resuming full training this week.

The midfielder, who has been sidelined with a groin injury since the FA Cup game at Old Trafford could make his comeback at the same venue with The Telegraph reporting that he is hopeful of playing himself into contention for a spot in the FA Cup final with a return against United.

Wenger had been concerned that the Ox’s season could be over but his recover, barring any setbacks, means that he could well be available for England duty over the summer as well. Joy joy.

The Ox is certainly due a break having missed both the FA Cup final and the World Cup last year however his groin problem has been troublesome and surgery has been discussed so it’s safe to say that we shouldn’t expect too much at this point just in case.
