Arsenal were lucky to leave Old Trafford with a draw.

That much is true.

Failing to turn up for the first 60+ minutes, it was only when the manager made a number of changes that we started to see the Arsenal we’ve come to love watching in 2015.

That being said, there was one blatant penalty call that Mike Dean refused to give, Chris Smalling pulling Olivier Giroud’s shirt so much all you could see was his blue undershirt.

Perhaps Dean thinks Giroud is a smurf.

Before that, Giroud had another decent shout for a penalty for the same thing, but the second one which came in the 62nd minute was as clear-cut as you’re ever going to see.

Throughout the game, Dean didn’t really have many other big decisions to make. Marouane Fellaini did get one elbow across Per Mertesacker’s face but, apart from that, the main decision was the penalty call and he didn’t give it.

Standard stuff from Dean really, all that was missing was for him to give them one for a dive.

Thankfully he didn’t get the chance.
