Danny Welbeck missed out on Arsenal’s game at Hull on Monday night with a knee injury.

The problem, which he seems to have picked up in training, is set to rule the forward out for up to two weeks but should see him return to the side for the trip to Old Trafford on 17th May when Arsenal will be looking to repeat their FA Cup result.

Speaking to the media, Arsene Wenger said “There’s an inflammation in his knee – it doesn’t look very bad but he isn’t available for selection.

“Yes, I think so [that he will be back before the end of the season]. I think maybe next Monday against Swansea, if not the game after (against United).”

Five points ahead of United with a game in hand, the Gunners know that even if they lose at Old Trafford, they are still in with a great chance of finishing above the Mancs once again.

United, in addition to Arsenal, have to face Crystal Palace (a) and Hull (a) either side of the game against us.

Arsenal have games against Swansea (h), Sunderland (h) and West Brom (h) remaining and the sensible money would have to be on Wenger’s men being able to seal third place at least with second in their own hands.
