Another week, another trip to Manchester.

In addition to our extensive pre-match coverage of the game, we got our writers together for a short prediction on how they think the game will pan out.

And if you think we’re just going to throw these predictions out there and then forget about them, fear not.

We’ll be back to take a look at how we did and laughing at the person who got it wrong more than anyone else.

Lee Hurley Draw 1-1

They need the win more than we do and, as we’ve often seen after poor results, Arsenal revert to a ‘first do not lose’ mentality (also knows as ‘Mourinho tactics’) so for that reason I fancy we’ll see a draw. We can’t be as useless in front of goal as we were against Swansea so we should score.

If we will, I’ll be delighted to be wrong.

Helen Trantum Win 2-1

Wouldn’t it be nice to win this one and make the prospect of finishing fourth a very remote possibility? And aren’t these exactly the kind of scenarios that usually make us freeze up?

With van Persie all but certain to score due to the “curse of the ex-player” we’ll need at least two goals to win this one. That said, I think we’ll get them. 2-1 Arsenal, with Alexis to tear Valencia a new one.

Stephen Bradley Win 2-1

Whilst in theory there is nothing other than bragging rights to play for, this game is set up to be rather more feisty than just a tepid end of season runaround.

Man United might have fourth place sewn up, but they’ll be wanting to send their fans home happy after the last home game of the season. The defeat in the FA Cup quarter-final will also be fresh in their minds.

That won’t mean that this will be a frantic, fast-paced game. United will persist with the patient passing game that Louis Van Gaal has implemented over the last few months, with Marouane Fellaini’s impression of Giroud as a backup if it doesn’t work.

Arsenal are going to spend of time in their own half, sitting back and waiting for United to surrender possession. If we defend well, and take advantage of chances like we did in March, we’ll win.

I think that’s exactly what will happen, 2-1 Arsenal.

Paul Williams Draw 1-1

Monday’s defeat may have punctured the feel good factor quietly brewing in (one half of) north London this year, however I don’t think that performance was the true mark of this team.

Whilst Arsenal have struggled for results at Old Trafford over the years, the FA Cup win a few months back should see our players in a positive frame of mind on Sunday.

I don’t see us losing this one, but I think two wins in two games at Old Trafford may be beyond us. 1-1.

Sylvain Jamet Draw 1-1

So after the last home defeat a reaction is needed. I expect a tough game and a 1-1 draw.

Lewis Ambrose Win 2-0

Man United come into this on the back of some ropey form and with top four all but wrapped up. They will, however, be looking to make up for our win in the FA Cup. The mood at their place has certainly lifted and we’re in for a tough game.

Van Gaal is unlikely to just sit back and it almost always suits us when the opposition try and go toe-to-toe.

A second Old Trafford win on the bounce sealed with some fast counter-attacking.

Manchester United 0-2 Arsenal

Nia Griffiths Draw 0-0

After our win in the FA Cup at Old Trafford in March, they’ll be looking to win back a bit of pride. However, we also lost the corresponding fixture earlier this season and need to bounce back after our result against Swansea.

I’d think our confidence will be a little low and although we know we’re capable of winning, when we walk onto that pitch it’s often another story.

On the other hand, Man United only have one win in four games and their form has really dipped.
0-0.

Mark Fine Draw 1-1

We played this game in March. United were nasty that day collecting six yellows. There was also Di Maria’s infamous pulling on Oliver’s shirt that got him sent off not long after  Danny Welbeck’s draw-breaker in the second half. We’ll have much of the same players as we did then, except for Ox and Danny Welbeck.

With much of the United staff due to return from injury (Smalling, RVP, and Rojo) the loss of Welbeck might tip the difference in this one. I would love to be able to say we’re going to win this outright, but I see this as a 1-1 draw.

Anita Sambol Win 1-0

No result is “ringing” in my head, so I’m just hoping for the best.

I am slightly more confident than for the FA Cup clash (I predicted a loss), but I’m not sure how the team will act. We tend to react well after a loss, and Rooney is out, so that’s going good for us. United are in need of a good result in big game (familiar?) so they’ll be extra motivated.

I really don’t know. I’m gonna go with 1-0 for us, Giroud or Ozil, to annoy my boyfriend.

Charlotte Marshall Draw 2-2

God I really dislike this match, so many bad memories.

Would love to see us get a result to match the FA cup game, and Man United are on a bad run of form, but they were when we played them at the Emirates and look what happened there! 2-2 draw.
