Lukasz Fabianski returned to the Emirates on Monday night and left with a clean sheet and all three points.

Proving impassable on the night, the Arsenal forwards will perhaps be disappointed with how straightforward they made it for their former teammate, however he was rightly happy with his display.

Enduring something of a rocky time while at Arsenal for seven years, injury played its part in robbing him of the number one shirt he worked so hard to achieve but he will be remembered for his heroics in the FA Cup last season, and, of course, his little wander in the final.

Speaking to the FA after the Premier League game, Fab fondly remembered the reception he was given after the final by the Arsenal fans who stayed behind to give him a send-off to remember.

“It was a special moment,” Fabianski said.

“I am not going to lie as I was happy to receive a reception like that. It tells you you are remembered for something positive and behaving in the right way. I really appreciated the reception they gave me.

“They won it last year so they have a really good chance to win it again.

“They have a strong team and they have the quality to do it. I will be watching, as I keep in touch with the players here.”
