After hitting a stunner of a strike from outside the box against Hull City, Alexis Sanchez has become the most lethal striker from outside the area in the Premier League.

The Chilean has scored three goals from outside the box, one less than defensive midfielder Yaya Toure and three fewer than attacking midfielder Christian Eriksen (via Squawka).

The 26-year-old has scored a total of 23 goals for the Gunners in his first season and made nine assists (via WhoScored) – a simply ridiculous amount.

The two goals Alexis scored against Hull also put him the top of the footballing performance index for May, gave Arsenal their 100th goal of the season and secured a top four finish. With this in mind, it’s fair to say that Alexis has been one of, if not the, most important player for the Gunners this season.

With this only being the forward’s first season at the club, it’s exciting to see what he has in store for us for years to come.
