Santi Cazorla has been on fire recently.

Back to his sublime best, he is flourishing in a deeper role for Arsene Wenger’s side, Cazorla has been a massive part of the reason why Arsenal have been the best side in Europe in 2015.

As the Gunners get ready for their next test in the chase for second place, the tiny Spaniard has been speaking to the press in Spain where he admitted that he’s enjoying his new role.

“I feel very at ease. The coach opted for me in this position and I have adapted wonderfully.

“Although I am farther from the box, Im’ found much more with the ball.

“I need to have the ball, get in touch with it. The more I have it, the better I feel … and now I have every so often. I also have more freedom in this role.”

Asked if he agreed with Wenger’s assertion that he’s in the best form of his career, Cazorla added

“I do not know if it’s the best, but certainly one of the best. I feel fine and I feel important. I’m taking a lot of responsibility. I hope to go further.”

With eight goals and 11 assists this season, Santi insists that it is creating the goals that he and Ozil love more than the scoring.

“I’ve never been a scorer.

“Players like Özil or I are giving more assists.

“Seven or eight league goals is a good number. Still, I try to beat my own totals. I would [like to] exceed the 12 goals I scored in my first year at Arsenal.”
