Santi Cazorla believes Arsenal are ‘lucky‘ to have Francis Coquelin in the squad.

The magical Spaniard was speaking at a Q&A event at Puma’s flagship store in London when he was asked by Arsenal FAN TV about the role Coquelin plays in the team, allowing the more creative players to go forward while he protects the back line.

“He [Coquelin] helps me and Mesut an awful lot, when I lose the ball he is always there.

“He is a very good player, we are lucky [to have him] and I am happy for him.”

Coquelin’s story really has been an amazing one and it’s been told so many times you don’t really need me to go over it yet again.

Speaking at an event for Barclay’s this week, the boss was hailing his French midfielder and may also have hinted that he has no plans to sign a defensive midfielder when the window opens.

It could be argued that if the manager had wanted to sign a player in that position he would have done so already and I’d be very surprised to see a defensive midfielder arrive at the club in the next window.
