Arsenal sealed St Totteringham’s Day with all three points at Hull on Monday night in comprehensive fashion.

Naming an unchanged lineup, the Gunners put on their best flat-track bully routine to ensure that, yet again, Tottenham will not be able to finish above Arsene Wenger’s men.

First half goals via two deflections and a cool Sanchez finish as he ran on to a laser-guided pass from Ramsey capped off a first 45 which saw Arsenal full of confidence and stroking the ball around in a manner that most struggle to cope with. They could, and perhaps should, have had more by the break.

Hull weren’t without a threat of their own in the first half, spurning opportunities on two occasions, but it was thanks to their ex-Spurs contingent that Arsenal were able to capitalise on their own scintillating play.

Tom Huddlestone, not content with being robbed once, was dispossessed on two separate occasions in the lead up to Arsenal scoring while Jake Livermore committed the foul that led to the first via Alexis Sanchez’s free-kick and a deflection off Michael Dawson’s head.

Ramsey’s trap for the second, from a delectable Santi Cazorla pass was pure football porn, his turn and finish, via another deflection, was everything his skill deserved.

The second half started in a similar vein but it was Hull who pulled one back in the 57th minute after Lee Mason let a heavy challenge on Laurent Koscielny by David Meyler go and they were able to cross to Stephen Quinn who found the net with a very good header. It was something Mason did a lot of.

Arsene Wenger was incensed.

Although Hull threatened on a few further occasions, a comeback never really looked likely and Arsenal held them off comfortably, only struggling at the odd cross.

At the other end, Arsenal fashioned a number of chances through some electric football but were unable to cap the game off with a  fourth,

Full time: Hull 1 (Quinn) Arsenal 3 (Sanchez x 2, Ramsey).
