Arsenal have, apparently, been offered the unbelievable chance to buy Barcelona’s Pedro for £7m.

Come one, come all, get your cheap strikers here!

Seems too good to be true, right?

After apparently trying to sign the front man a couple of times (so we’re told) the Telegraph are reporting the Gunners are one of a number of clubs being offered the 27-year-old who is out of contract next summer which could go some way to explaining a reduced price, but £7m?

At the club since 2004, he is said to want to leave the Catalan side due to his order in the striker hierarchy, finding himself being Messi, Neymar and Suarez, a similar story to Alexis Sanchez only with an extended stay at the club under his belt. Averaging just 40 minutes per league game this season, it’s not surprising that he would seek to move somewhere for more playing time. But, again, for £7m?

It’s claimed that the club are resigned to the situation and have accepted that Pedro could leave despite issuing public statements that they want him to stay.

With a transfer embargo in place, are they really going to let him leave? And why wouldn’t he just wait until next summer when he can command a whopper of a transfer fee?

£7m is about all we can say regarding this story. Say it to yourself a few times and then make up your own mind.
