Marc Overmars is apparently going to try his best to prevent Arsenal target Donyell Malen from coming to the Gunners in the summer.

In 2012, Ajax appointed Arsenal legend, Marc Overmars, as their director of football and, if the rumour mill is to be believed, now it seems he’s trying to stop their young prodigy from joining his old team and, according to Sport Witness, he’s got his work cut out.

The 16-year-old winger, who the Daily Star linked us with recently, has already been called the ‘new Thierry Henry‘ and looks to be moving away from Ajax during the next transfer window.

As exciting as that sounds, a lot of the noise surrounding the youngster seems to be coming from – surprise, surprise – his agent who has described him, according to the Daily Star’s report, as a ‘phenomenon‘ and the ‘jewel of the future for Ajax‘.

Blimey. Not even my own parents are that nice about me.

The enthusiastic agent has also said, “[Malen] Has been sixteen for a while, but Ajax have still not contacted me for an interview. Weird right?”

Agents. Gotta love ’em, right?
