Another week, another bus on its way.

In addition to our extensive pre-match coverage of the game, we got our writers together for a short prediction on how they think the game will pan out.

And if you think we’re just going to throw these predictions out there and then forget about them, fear not.

We’ll be back to take a look at how we did and laughing at the person who got it wrong more than anyone else.

Lee Hurley Win 2-0

I’ve a terrible feeling this game is going to be immensely dull and then I remember we should see some changes to the starting lineup and that should, hopefully, liven us up a bit as people look to nail down a starting spot for the FA Cup final.

As Anthony Taylor is in charge, expect the game to be not without it’s moments of incredible frustration, but I fancy we’ll see a return to winning ways.

Helen Trantum Draw 0-0

Sunderland need a draw to be 100% safe, and they’ve had nine 0-0’s already this season. This game has the hallmarks of them sitting very deep and us trying to break them down.

The result will likely hang on whether we break them down relatively early – if so it could be a goal fest. I expect some rotation, perhaps starts for Jack and Theo, and as a result I suspect we may struggle for fluency early on.

Possibility of both a rout and a 1-0 steal late on, but I’m going with a non-Arsenal win for the first time. 0-0.

Stephen Bradley Draw 0-0

Let’s see. A draw just about guarantees Arsenal third place in the league and the avoidance of a Champions League qualifier. A draw also guarantees Sunderland will avoid relegation this season, and their last game is away to Chelsea.

I’m not saying that both sides will go out of their way to get a result that suits both parties……………………actually, I am.

0-0.

Paul Williams Win 2-0

I think a couple of changes will freshen up a jaded looking Arsenal team enough to ensure three points and third place. After a succession of bright cameos,  Jack Wilshere has to be in contention for a start. Theo Walcott may also return to the starting line to provide his unique brand of running very fast in straight lines. The question, as ever, is: who do you leave out and can Jack and Aaron function properly in the same midfield?

Whatever team we send out, I expect us to win: 2-0.

Sylvain Jamet Win 2-0

Well I hope to see at least 4 or 5 players to be rotated after the Old Trafford draw. The attacking impetus need to come back as well as creativity. Another attack v defense game and surely we are due a win. 2-0 Walcott and Gabriel (if he starts instead of Kos).

Lewis Ambrose Win 2-0

Sunderland’s form has improved while ours has slowed down. They’ll play with a couple of strikers but other than some very basic football it’s hard to see them creating anything and they know they only need a point.

Meanwhile we’ll surely include a couple of changes – Wilshere, Walcott, maybe Rosicky. With Wembley places up for grabs for anyone who can impress in the next two games a few changes would suit us here and give us the impetus to win.

Arsenal 2-0 Sunderland.

Nia Griffiths Win 2-0

After the static first half performance against Man United, I’m hoping to see a little bit of a mix up amongst the team with some new faces getting a start. Jack Wilshere and Theo Walcott were great when they came on at Old Trafford so perhaps it’s time to start them.

Sunderland are Sunderland and we should be able to beat them on our turf.

We only need a point and then third place is ours – surely even we can’t mess that up? 2-0 Arsenal.

Mark Fine Win 3-1

Fresh on the heels of a United draw and the prospect of getting kicked to death by a side that’s still not 100% safe from relegation, Sunderland have a league-leading 93 yellow cards (no one else even comes close. Next highest are Stoke with only 78.) so it’s going to be a scrappy 90 minutes for sure.

After loading up on two pairs of shin guards and a couple of sending offs from Anthony Taylor, I think we’ll prevail 3-1.

Anita Sambol Win 1-0

Uninspired 1-0, because one has to get in eventually. Hoping for 90 minutes of actual football. Anything but a win would make me angry.

Charlotte Marshall Win 2-0

Expecting rotation and a nervy first half performance – can’t see Sunderland playing for anything other than a draw, so we need to score early to drag them out of their own half, otherwise we could get caught like we were against Swansea.

We should have enough to avoid this, so 2-0 Arsenal.
