Sky Sports will not allow Thierry Henry to present an award to lifelong Arsenal supporter AP McCoy on 25th April as the event will be shown on Channel 4.

The pundit, who signed a mega-deal with Sky Sports after he retired from playing, had been asked by officials to present the award to the jockey in honour of his record 20th champions jump jockey title at Sandown at what could well be McCoy’s last ever ride.

Sky stated that the decision to block him from appearing was made on the basis that the request had not been made through the proper channels however it is widely believed that it was simply because the event would be shown by a competitor and Henry, as we know, is Sky Sports flagship pundit.

The former Arsenal man has not yet given any comment about the situation where he would no doubt have been delighted to present McCoy with his award.
