Arsene Wenger has practically a full squad to pick from once again in news that will warm the hearts of Gunners everywhere.

Just Mikel Arteta and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain are ruled out for the game on Saturday with the Ox expected back in around two weeks (which is exactly how long he was supposed to be out for when the last update was given last week) while it’s not clear when Arteta will be fit to return to the squad.

Wenger confirmed that Wojciech Szczesny will return to goal in his role as cup keeper and the Pole, who has recovered from his rib injury, will certainly be keen to put in a good performance as he looks to reclaim his starting spot from David Ospina.

“We have a massive squad of 24 players at the moment,” Wenger told reporters at his press conference on Thursday.

“There are also players on loan. It’s important to get the right dimension. We know each other better now and have a better balance in our team between attacking and defending.

“All the players have top, top quality which makes it very difficult for me to pick my best team. They all deserve to play.”

Jack Wilshere, Abou Diaby and Serge Gnabry all appear to have come through their outing for the u21’s on Monday unscathed so we could see one, if not more, of that trio on the bench for Saturday.
