After coming away victorious against Burnley this weekend, Olivier Giroud suspects we may have been a bit lucky but we showed our ability to keep calm under pressure.

Another vital three points and another step closer to ensuring a top four finish this season. However, Saturday’s fixture at Turf Moor was far from the pretty, fluid football we’re used to.

After the game, Olivier Giroud admits luck may have been on our side.

It was a tough game for us and we were a bit lucky,” he continued,We did well to score early in the game because it was really hard for us. Burnley play with a lot of determination and it was a big fight, but we succeeded and it was a big win for us.” He added, Sometimes you can’t play your best football every game.”

The striker continued by giving a small insight into how the team approached the game after the early goal, We tried to focus on not conceding a goal. It’s one more clean sheet so as long as we were winning the game, I don’t think we were too much in danger.”

The Frenchman then reiterated, “If we were told that we were going to win this game 1-0 I would’ve taken that straight away. It’s never easy to win here. We kept our calm today, especially in the first half because they played really tough and it was a big fight.”

When speaking of Arsenal’s current winning form, Giroud, who has scored 17 goals in all competitions so far this season, confessed how proud he is to be part of it, adding:

We don’t want to stop here, though, we want to carry on and keep this good run and momentum going.”

The team hopefully extent their ‘good run‘ next weekend at Wembley stadium where we face Reading in the FA Cup semi-final.
