Carlo Cudicini believes that Petr Cech should be a ‘big target’ for Arsene Wenger this summer.

Arsneal have been linked with a move for the 32-year-old Chelsea keeper with many seeming to believe that Wojceich Szczesny’s time at the club is over.

Here at Daily Cannon we aren’t quite sure that is the case unless something has happened in the background between the player and the manager that we aren’t aware of.

There’s no denying that Cech would be a great signing for Arsenal however given the club only signed David Ospina in the summer, one senior keeper would surely have to make way for the Czech international.

Speaking to TalkSport, Cudicini said “Arsenal have had a few problems with goalkeepers after [David] Seaman and [Jens] Lehmann.

“Szczesny is still struggling to impose himself as number one, so if a goalkeeper like Petr Cech is available in the summer, obviously he should be a big target for Arsenal.”

It’s almost as if the majority of people have forgotten that until this recently Woj was the undisputed number one at the club and was the winner of the Golden Glove last year. Well, joint winner – with Petr Cech.

It’s hard to tell how much truth there is in the reports that Arsenal are interested in the Chelsea man. Is it just the press putting two and two together or have the found out something that the rest of us don’t know?

I’d be inclined to think it’s the former.
