Arsenal will wear their yellow away strip for the FA Cup final in May.

The kit, which holds a special place in the minds and hearts of many Arsenal fans has actually not been that lucky for the Gunners in recent years, with them losing the last four finals in which they played in yellow.

With regards to tickets for the final, as per the FA’s usual ridiculousness, fans of both clubs will receive 25,000 tickets, enough to guarantee every season ticket holder at Villa one, with 7,000 left over (they have 18,000 season ticket holders) but a number that means the majority of Arsenal fans will miss out (Arsenal have over 45,000 season ticket holders and 150,000 members) . The ‘football family’ will receive 20,000 and Club Wembley members 17,000 – yep, that’s right, neutrals receive more tickets that the fans of either side.

Although they are not allowed to sell these tickets, many do, with most going for many times their face value. I had the chance to get one last season from a person who had received a ‘football family’ ticket and had no interest in the game. While I was willing to pay face value for the ticket, the person eventually sold it to someone else who offered £300 for it.

Face value for tickets this year means £50, £70, £90 or £120 as announced by the FA.

They have justified their pricing strategy on the fact that they are comparable to other big sporting events in the UK, including Wimbledon and the Open.

Kick-off for the final is 5.30pm and Arsenal fans will be in the East Stand.

Jon Moss, a referee known for being a bit on the gormless side of things, will take charge of the match.
