Young rightback, Hector Bellerin, insists Arsenal’s 0-0 draw against Chelsea this weekend is all just part of football.

The Spaniard had an excellent game against the Blues at the weekend and has been speaking about how starting his career on the wing has helped him during games.

“As people know I used to be a winger before, so I like to get forward a lot. That’s probably the best thing about my game.”

When speaking about how his experience paid off against Chelsea, he said, “I just try to help the team at both ends of the pitch and I think I did that. It was a really big game, a really tough game. We had to rise to the occasion because [Chelsea] have a really good team and they’ve shown that throughout the season.”

On why the team didn’t get the result they wanted, he explained, “We were on a strong run, so we knew it was going to be tough. We didn’t have many chances in the second half,” before adding, “but the team worked really hard, we stopped them really well and did well on their counter-attacks.”

However, the 20-year-old is keen to move on from the disappointing result, not because of embarrassment or shame, but because he believes it’s all just part of the game.

“We probably deserved a bit more because we had a few chances, especially in the first half, but that’s the way games go. Sometimes you win, sometimes you don’t and that’s what happened here.”

It’s reassuring to see our players recognising where they potentially went wrong but also quick to move onto the next match.

Arsenal face Hull City next week and the youngster is bound to feature. He’s quickly cemented his place in the first team and his terrific performance against league leaders Chelsea has shown he’s more than ready for the Premier League.
