Hector Bellerin has enjoyed one heck of a great season.

Making the breakthrough into the first team in the wake of Mathieu Debuchy’s terrible fortune with injuries, the Spaniard has given Arsene Wenger a real head-scratcher when it comes to deciding who he should pick in the right-back slot.

Bellerin was picked out by the press in Italy as the best Arsenal player from the game against Chelsea at the weekend, something that tallied with our own player ratings and he was also named in the European team of the week by Sport in Spain.

According to Sport Witness, the Catalan press have a soft-spot for Bellerin, although why that should be is not clear.

They are often less than complementary to players who have come through La Masia and have left, especially for Arsenal.

While it is believed that Bellerin will/has agree/d a new deal to keep him at Arsenal for the foreseeable future, we fully expect this summer to be chock full of ‘Bellerin to Barca’ stories despite the player making it perfectly clear why he left the Spanish giants in the first place.
