Arsenal made hard work of their FA Cup semi-final against Reading at Wembley.

Taking the lead in the first half through Alexis Sanchez, they comprised to play the entire game with their setting firmly switched to ‘Only Reading’.

Poor keeping from Wojciech Szczesny let Reading pull the game level in the second half and, ultimately, ensured the game went to extra time but it was another mistake from the Reading keeper that sent Arsenal on their way to the final.

Wenger’s decision to change both his fullbacks, as well as the keeper, could very well have proven costly as both Kieran Gibbs and Mathieu Debuchy looked some distance off the pace, hardly surprising given that they haven’t played in forever.

Although the post and a number of good saves denied Arsenal throughout the game, I don’t think there is any Arsenal fan on the planet who feels this was a comfortable win and signs of old Arsenal were certainly in evidence from the start of the match.

It could have cost us. Thankfully, it didn’t.

Quite how my heart survives being an Arsenal fan, I’ll never know.

Wembley!

..over to you Tim!
