Arsenal ladies got their league campaign off to a poor start with a disappointing draw against Notts County.

In fact, they could perhaps consider themselves fortunate to leave with a point.

Here’s how the players fared:

Emma Byrne 5

Did not take control of her area. Her febrility was surprising and did not inspire confidence to her defence.

Emma Mitchell 6

Unlucky to be knocked out by an unnecessary foul by Williams and subbed at half time.

Casey Stoney 5

Lucky not to give away a penalty. Gave away the free kick with Weir that led to Notts County’s goal. Not the leading display expected from an experienced player.

Alex Scott 5.5

Passing went ashtray a bit too often. A good run down the wing and showed good fighting spirit when Byrne was kicked by White.

Jemma Rose 5.5

A bit unlucky to give away the penalty on White. Her partnership with Stoney need to be worked on.

Caroline Weir 6

An assist for Ubogagu but did not look comfortable in the defensive mid position. Did well at left back in the second half.

Vicky Losada 5.5

Struggled physically in her first official game. She received a warm welcome from Notts County who decided to press her and push her as often as possible.

Jordan Nobbs 6

Tried to influence the game and show her usual leadership, leading by example but Notts County managed to restrict her ability to affect the game.

Lianne Sanderson 6.5

Involved in a lot of things making herself available on the attacking front. Things did not work out but she tried hard.

Natalia Sanchon 5.5

Very isolated on the left wing and rarely saw the ball. She is a fox-in-the-box and got no real service.

Danielle Carter 6

Tried to find and create space in attack but with the whole forward line being subdued, she did not find it easy to make things happen.

Subs

Jade Bailey 6.5

Came on in the second half and restored some balance to the team with her positioning and reading of the game.

Chioma Ubogagu 8

Made an instant impact after coming on with her pace and what a goal for the equaliser!
