We take a look back over the past seven days in the world of Arsenal ladies.

First team

The Arsenal Ladies had a huge win on Sunday against title contenders Man City, bringing home all three points thanks to a Chioma Ubogagu goal from a Vicky Losada assist.

Pedro Losa rang the changes from the win against Bristol on Wednesday with Chamberlain, Mitchell, Nobbs, Humphrey and Yankey making way to Byrne, Bailey, Smith, Ubogagu and Sanchon.

Emma Byrne, Alex Scott, Casey Stoney, Jemma Rose, Leah Williamson, Jade Bailey, Vicky Losada, Kelly Smith, Chioma Ubogagu, Natalia Sanchon and Danielle Carter were the original starting eleven but in a last minute change Emma Mitchell came in for Casey Stoney. Leah Williamson moved from left-back to center-back.

Pedro Losa certainly seems to enjoy squad rotation.

Lianne Sanderson came on at half-time for Kelly Smith, Rachel Yankey came on for Chioma Ubogagu in the 80th minute and Caroline Weir came on for Jade Bailey in the 87th minute. Jordan Nobbs, Carla Humphrey, Siobhan Chamberlain and Casey Stoney were unused substitutes.  Jade Bailey was booked in the incident that led to Jill Scott being sent-off in the 56th minute for headbutting Bailey.

It looks like we are seeing the end of tunnel of bad results and the problems we saw for a year under Shelley Kerr. To be fair, she did win the FA Cup twice and the FA WSL Continental Cup and Pedro Losa did not manage to retain those trophies, but it seems like the team will be able to compete again for a Champions League place after two seasons out of the tournament.

The team will be at home to third-placed Sunderland on Sunday 26th April in a top of the table clash and will need to keep their winning streak to keep their grip on the Champions League place.

Development squad

The development team game against Oxford United was postponed and will be played at a later date.
