Arsenal are once again being linked with a move for AC Milan’s Stephan El Shaarawy.

The player is one whom Arsenal were linked very heavily with last summer and new reports claim that the Gunners could test the water with a very specific £11.8m bid.

But will they?

The report I’m basing this on came from the Telegraph, a paper not known for peddling nonsense like some of the others so that instantly makes the rumour a little more credible.

The player, however, despite not featuring for the Italians since January, seems to be happy where he is if the latest statement from his agent is to be believed.

Speaking to MilanNews, Manuel El Shaarawy said “I’ve had some requests from abroad, even in January. But Stephan is at home with Milan and doesn’t feel the need to leave.

“He has a good relationship with the fans, the club and his teammates.

“We’ll see what happens in the summer though, it depends on whether the coach [Inzaghi] will stay, if there will be changes at boardroom level and especially what the club plans to do on the transfer market.

“If Milan were to tell us that Stephan needs to go elsewhere then we’d sit round the table and talk about it.”

Scoring just one goal this season, El Shaarawy is a player that certainly seems to be interesting Wenger and with the club seemingly looking to recruit a forward to replace the out-going Lukas Podolski, it’s understandable that Arsenal are being linked with him.

It’s hard to see anything coming of this rumour, however, and the bid being reported is merely a speculated amount that might possibly open the door at Milan should Arsenal wish to get involved.
