Arsene Wenger has confirmed that Wojciech Szczesny will return to the squad for the game against Manchester United.

Provide he’s got over the illness that kept him out of the squad against QPR on Wednesday night, of course.

The Pole, who is now this season’s cup-keeper and number two has been missed by many.

While David Ospina has performed relatively well, there is feeling, shared especially amongst writers here at Daily Cannon, that the Pole is simply a much better option in goal for a variety of reasons (see article linked at end).

Speaking to the media at his press conference on Friday, Wenger said

He has a test today [Friday]. If he gets through that test, he will play on Monday night.

It is likely that we will see Emiliano Martinez take the spot on the bench if Wenger follows the pattern he has established this season so far.

I, for one, am glad to see Woj come back for Old Trafford.

We need a keeper that knows this game and opposition and we will likely need every advantage we can muster to make the FA Cup semi-final given our luck against that lot.
