Southampton’s Toby Alderweireld is loving life and being linked with a host of clubs.

The Saints defender, who has been one of many players linked with a summer move to Arsenal, told the media

“I cannot deny that it’s nice to hear about yourself in a positive way. I’m fine in the Premier League, but I have no news of concrete contacts.

“Atletico can take me back because I still have two years of my contract to run, Southampton can buy me, another club can make an offer.

“Whatever happens, it seems that it will be another hot summer for me.”

Of course, Arsenal aren’t actually going to try and buy him.

For a start, the 26-year-old is a centreback and we’ve just bought one of those.

While many are speculating about Per Mertesacker’s long-term future at the club, he won’t be going anywhere this summer at least and with Gabriel brought in to become first choice alongside Laurent Koscielny, where would Toby go?

http://www.carbonsports.ag have Arsenal as favourites to maintain their five-point lead over the Saints this weekend, maybe even stretch it as Ronald Koeman’s men travel to Stamford Bridge, as they take on West Ham at the Emirates.

While the transfer rumours continue to swirl, the boys are just happy to get on with business on the pitch.
