Ray Parlour thinks he knows who Arsenal need to sign – Chelsea’s Petr Cech.

The shotstopper has been linked heavily with a move to Arsenal after losing his place in the starting lineup to Thibaut Courtois, but it’s doubtful that Arsenal will make a move for him given they have David Ospina, Wojciech Szczesny and Emiliano Martinez at the club.

That’s if they don’t sell Woj, of course, which all seems highly unlikely despite rumours that insist on trying to take hold.

Speaking to SportsMole, the Invincible said of the Chelsea man

“He’d be a terrific signing and provide so much experience.

“He’s got some stern competition at Chelsea. He’s played in some big, big games and a move across London would be great.

“Whether Chelsea would let him go, I don’t know.

“He’s still a young goalkeeper really and has plenty of years ahead of him. Someone like Petr Cech would be a great signing for Arsenal.”

There is of course the other issue – would Mourinho sell him to Arsenal?

We all know that he refused to allow Demba Ba to join the club on loan and if Arsenal finish the season strongly and in second place, the paranoid one might see it as too much of a gamble given how good Cech actually is.

One thing that does seem clear – Cech won’t be heading to United with him replying ‘You wish’ on Twitter when asked by a United fan if he would sign for the club.
