David Ospina has warned Arsenal not to underestimate Rademel Falcao.

The Arsenal shotstopper, who is likely to be replaced in goal by Wojceich Szczesny for the showdown against Manchester United, has been speaking to Standard Sport about his countryman, and despite the impression that he has been a massive flop since he arrived, Ospina has been hailing the striker.

Ospina said

“We haven’t spoke about the match but we are in contact and I am absolutely convinced that Falcao is a player with a winning attitude, he has a strong mentality and is a great professional.

“He has demonstrated that in every team he has ever played in. When he has stability and continuity, he will come to the forefront and he is going to be an amazing player for Manchester United. We will never underestimate him.

“He is an excellent forward and I will hope to stop him scoring any goals against us if I play.”

Falcao joined United on loan on deadline day in the summer for a massive £6m fee and is expected to cost a further £45m should the old Trafford side decide to make the arrangement permanent.

With four goals and five assists in his 17 Premier League games, he perhaps hasn’t done as badly as many believe.

Despite the fact that Ospina will not be in goal to try and stop his compatriot, let’s all cross our fingers that the Falcao we see is the one who has appeared to labour since his arrival rather than the one Ospina knows only too well.
