Dubbed the ‘new Neymar’, Wellington Silva has confirmed that he *finally* hopes to be at Arsenal next season.

We’ll just ignore the part about Neymar only being 11 months older than the Arsenal man and pretend that any of these ‘new so-and-so’ comparisons ever work out.

Wellington was eligible for a work permit this season but the club opted to send him out on loan again.

Despite a rocky start to his life as an Arsenal player, struggling to adapt and rumours of a poor attitude, he really seems to have turned himself around.

This season he has made a total of 24 appearances for Almeria, 20 of them coming in La Liga. He also has five assists to his name, although he has yet to find the net.

Speaking to the press, Wellington said

“It’s a dream for me to play there. Arsenal is a great club.

“Unfortunately this was not possible because of these administrative concerns, but I’m ready now.

“If all goes well, I’ll be out there next season.”

Will his time at Arsenal be another Joel Campbell? It’s hard to tell.

In the meantime, watch the two assists he got in one game this season here.
