What a game!

In addition to our extensive pre-match coverage of the game, we’ve got our writers together for a short prediction on how they thought the game would pan out.

Here’s how we did:

Lee Hurley Predicted Win 2-1

Boom!

That is all.

Helen Trantum Predicted Win 2-0

What a night!

I went with 2-0, which rather depended on Kos not getting caught under a rather hopeful cross, but to be honest we could just as easily scored more up our end with de Gea putting in a fantastic performance.

My Giroud prediction was scuppered by, well, him not playing!

Luckily Nacho and Danny stepped up and I couldn’t be happier for Welbz in particular to stick two fingers up at Louis van Gaal.

A word for the away support – absolutely fantastic and put the home fans to shame.

It was an honour, a delight and a privilege to enjoy the night with you.

As for the next round, we’re due the winners of the Bradford/Reading tie, but more importantly we’re off to our new second home – Wembley!

Bring. It. On.

Stephen Bradley Predicted Draw 2-2

Oh me of little faith.

I knew there would be defensive mishaps but I didn’t expect that they would commit more of them than we did.

We had one brain fart when we didn’t press Di Maria, who produced a peach of a ball for Rooney to score from.

But apart from that? Not a lot.

Danny Welbeck deserves HUGE credit for the way he played. He could’ve hid from the spotlight, he didn’t.

Ran all night, tried all night, and when presented with an opportunity, he pounced.

All in all, a professional performance from Arsenal.

Hallelujah!

Paul Williams Predicted Lose 1-2

Wrong, wrong, wrong again but couldn’t be happier about it.

Arsenal were committed, resilient and played their football.

United, on the other hand, dived a lot.

The Nacho Man finished off a beautiful team move, which was quickly cancelled out by you know who.

But that only set the stage for Danny to return as champion of the world.

Or the champion of Manchester, at least.

His lightning pace allowed him to capitalise on a Valencia error, round De Gea and give Arsenal their first victory at Old Trafford since 2006.

Wembley, here we come!

Sylvain Jamet N/A

Sylvain is on international duty, following the ladies.

Lewis Ambrose Predicted Draw 1-1

Winning at Old Trafford was a long time coming.

A really really good performance tonight, helped by United’s general lack of talent, we defended excellently and constantly looked good on the front foot.

Couldn’t be happier that it was Welbeck who scored the winner, and that he celebrated! What a night. That should be a massive lift for us.

What did she wear?!

Nia Griffiths Predicted Win 1-0

I haven’t been that nervous about a game in a long time. Nor have I celebrated goals like that in a long, long time.

Although I predicted we’d win, it was more out of hope than actual optimism.

THAT was what the FA Cup is all about. What a match!

We sat back, absorbed pressure and looked confident going forward. That’s not to say it wasn’t nervy in the final ten minutes or so but we saw it out.

Could we have prevented their equaliser? Probably.

Could we have scored more to put the match out of sight earlier? Definitely.

What matters is – we’re going to Wembley.

Que sera, sera.

Sean Ferguson Predicted Draw 0-0

Well, I was wrong with my prediction but I couldn’t care less.

Finally, we got a result at Old Trafford with a great performance to set up friendly semi final draw against Bradford or Reading.

If it wasn’t for a couple of fantastic De Gea saves it would’ve been more comfortable but thankfully that didn’t matter.

Thought Monreal, Coquelin and The Ox were our stand-out players but everyone did their part.

Four Wembley appearances in less than a year?

Let’s hope we make that five by the end of the season. WEM-BER-LEY!

Mark Fine Predicted Win 1-0

I think almost everything I said was true, until United started to cheat themselves out of it.

Then it just became academic, despite our fears that something might go wrong.

With 75 minutes on the clock I tweeted, “Don’t care what happens from this point. We’ve played well, classed them out, and frustrated them. I’m well proud of my team. #Arsenal”

Oh… Did I also mention we exposed them?

Anita Sambol Predicted Lose 1-2

My reaction? I’m sorry I ever doubted you, Arsenal!

What a great match, with a great atmosphere in the stadium and the result is the best part of it all!

Off to Wembley again, with the draw making the dream of defending the cup a reality!

I can’t be happier! Just wow.

Oh, and my MOTM was Nacho, what a player to have, absolutely love him!

Oh my god!! We won at Old Trafford!
