We take a look at what happened over the past seven days with the loan players and youth team.

Games rescheduled

Two u21 games have been moved to accommodate Arsenal’s FA Youth Cup game against Crewe.
Arsenal will now host Aston Villa on March 20th while the trip to Derby will take place on March 10th.

FA Youth Cup

The u18’s crashed out of the FA Youth Cup after losing 2-3 to Crewe.

Going three-goals down, they left themselves too much to do and despite goals from Mavididi and Bola, they could not save the tie or their place in this year’s competition.

Loan watch

Joel Campbell

Joel was an 86th minute sub in Villarreal’s 3-1 away win over Red Bull Salzburg in the Europa League. He also played the full 90 when Villarreal travelled to Real Madrid and claimed a 1-1 draw.

Yaya Sanogo

Yaya did not feature for Palace as they won 3-1 at West Ham as he continues to recover from a hamstring injury that has kept him sidelined for the last few weeks. Alan Pardew hopes to have the striker available for their game against QPR on 14th March.

Matt Macey

Once again, Matt took no part in any of Accrington Stanley’s game this week. Displace by another on-loan goalkeeper after featuring regularly until January, he has not played since the transfer window closed.

Carl Jenkinson

Jenks is now well-established as the number-one right abck with West Ham and played the full 90 minutes as they crashed to a 3-1 home defeat at the hands of Alan Pardew’s Crystal Palace.

Ryo Miyaichi

Ryo, once again, did not feature for FC Twente in their 1-1 home draw with NAC Breda but he did score this cracking goal for the Dutch side’s B-team

Lukas Podolski

Lukas did not take part in Inter Milan’s Europa League game against Celtic due to the fact he was not included in their squad for the competition. He did, however, play 66 minutes for the Italians as they lost 0-1 in Florence.

After the game, Roberto Mancini commented that the German needed to do more.

Jon Toral

Jon got his week off to the best possible start with a hattrick for Brentford that earned him a place in the Championship Team of the Week. He then followed that up with another full 90 as the Bees lost 1-0 at Birmingham thanks to a James Tarkowski own goal to hand Birmingham their first win in 11 games.

Josh Vickers

Playing the full 90 against AFC Hornchurch, Josh kept a cleansheet as Concord Rangers won 0-2. He also played the entire game away to Basingstoke and kept yet another cleansheet as the sides drew 0-0.

Wellington Silva

Wellington got 67 minutes for Almeria against Deportivo La Coruna as they managed to hang on for a 0-0 draw despite having two men sent off.
