A number of Arsenal players have been called up by their countries for the next round of international matches.

Danny Welbeck, Theo Walcott and Kieran Gibbs have all been included in England’s squad for their games against Lithuania and Italy, a meaningless friendly, while Chuba Akpom has been selected for the u20 side.

Arsenal’s game against Newcastle this weekend is the last for the club until April 4th due to the break which sees England play on March 27th at Wembley, the Arsenal men’s second home, in a Euro qualifier. The game against Italy will take place in Turin on March 31st.

Akpom will be part of the England u20 squad which will play two games during the break – against Mexico at The Hive followed by the USA at Home Park.

How many of that quad return in pieces is not yet known but it’s a good thing we aren’t approaching the business end of the season.

Oh wait…
