Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is currently side lined with a hamstring problem.

The winger has, however, vowed to come back stronger than ever from this latest injury setback.

Missing the World Cup in the summer due to the knee ligament damage his picked up which has caused him a number of problems, the Ox is dealing with this latest minor problem with good grace.

Speaking to the media as he gets prepared to miss out on the upcoming international matches, the Ox said

“I am all right, I am battling on.

“Injuries and niggles are all part of the game.

“When you come back from a long- term injury like my knee, it is hard and almost surprising if you don’t experience some sort of knock- on effects – especially at the level we play, the intensity of the games and the demands we put on ourselves in training.

“This season I have played more games and it can be difficult to stay on top of the niggles and manage them.

“Saying that, the Arsenal and England physios have done well to keep me on the pitch as long as they did. All the injuries I had picked up throughout my career had been contact injuries – the odd kick or roll of the ankle – until this knee injury.

“You have to realise that I had never been out of football for five months in my whole life.

“Now I have been doing everything and more to try to make sure I come back stronger.”

Entering a rich vein of form before he pulled his hammy, it shouldn’t be too much longer after the international break before he returns although he will certainly miss the crunch game against Liverpool when Arsenal will have a chance to end Liverpool’s Champions League hopes for this season once and for all by opening up a nine point gap.
