Thierry Henry believes his former side can go to Monaco and defy the odds.

Speaking in his Sun (£) column, the frontman-turned-pundit knows that Arsene Wenegr’s men have the ability to overturn what was a disasterous first-leg and progress to the quarter finals for the first time in, well, a long time.

Blowing first legs and then failing heroically in the second has become something of a speciality of Arsenal’s every March, but with momentum on their side and the result against Monaco at the Emirates seeming more like an aberration with every passing game, you wouldn’t back against Wenger’s men delivering this time, especially when you consider the number of great chances they spurned first time round.

Henry called on Arsenal to emulate PSG and Schalke and pull off a shock result on Tuesday.

He said

“Paris Saint-Germain and Schalke both pulled off shock results in the Champions League.

“PSG stunned Chelsea while Schalke gave Real Madrid a fright with their away win.

“And I believe Arsenal can do the same at Monaco on Tuesday.

“People will say I’m biased, I know, but despite trailing 3-1 from the first leg, my former club can produce a big result in the big game.

“It won’t be easy of course.

“Yet with the right attitude and commitment, Arsene Wenger’s team can deliver a performance they will never, ever forget.

“Manchester City have an even bigger task. I would put the game as 90-10 in Barcelona’s favour and City will not see much of the ball.

“But as we have seen, anything is possible.”

There you go, Gunners, Henry believes.

You’re not going to let him down, are you?
