Yes.

We’re still going on about it.

Why shouldn’t we?

Wouldn’t you if you had not only failed to win somewhere for nine years but had been humiliated on a regular basis, suffered injustice upon travesty of refereeing and had to listen to the media bleat on about it incessantly?

So yes. We will go on about it, and if when we lift the FA Cup it will be the crowning glory in this cup run.

And this is why:

The people around us

We all know them, those people who support Manchester United and have no comprehension of what it’s like to support a ‘real‘ team that doesn’t just stroll to titles season after season.

Welcome to the real world, what you are about to experience is payback for 25 years of being unbearably arrogant with no comprehension of life with the ‘others’.

The media

They love to tell us what’s wrong with Arsenal, most of it made up, but after Monday night they had no choice but to acknowledge a number of points that went firmly against their established narratives (yes, I used that word).

You know the ones, the ones that tell us Arsenal are bottlers, that their fans are always quiet and that the club is happy with mediocrity.

People have had to acknowledge that the manager who could become the most successful manager in the HISTORY of the FA Cup might just know what he’s doing after all.

That Arsenal’s team aren’t a bunch of lily-livered lightweights who can be bullied out of a game.

That sound you heard all week was journalists hitting their ‘delete’ buttons repeatedly.

Nobody mentions a ‘lack of plan B’

We got one.

It works.

Shut up.

We may never have to hear ‘nine years without….‘ again

Another unwanted nine year record, another one finally ended.

So much more room in our ears for other words.

We can mock United properly now

While we all joined in with mocking Manchester United as they fell from their gilded perch with Ferguson’s retirement, it always felt a little hollow as we knew we’d probably lose 1-0 to a Rooney goal the next time we played them anyway.

Now we can laugh with our whole body and soul.

That’s always the best way to do it and as we all know, laughter makes everything better.
